We really enjoyed playing Shadow at the Water's Edge! As Nancy Drew fans, we can tell you that this one is definitely one of our favorites from the game series (with the another being Treasure in a Royal Tower). The storyline and graphics were great, which is why this game was so addicting, and we just wanted to keep playing and playing! Also, we enjoyed, as always, trying to solve the various puzzles/games/tasks you come across during your sleuthing - they make the game challenging! We loved that it gives you a taste of a different culture, as well.

Nancy Drew: Shadow at the Water's Edge is a really fun and exciting game that everyone -whether you're a Nancy Drew fan, computer game fan, or mystery fan - will want to play! And if you have liked the other Nancy Drew games in the series, you will most definitely enjoy this one!

Check out this video:

I've had a blast playing with the Rubik’s Slide recently! The object of the game is to twist, turn, and slide the light panel until you correctly match the puzzle solution. There is an easy to find on/off switch on the back of the game unit and three other buttons on the side, which include the check mark button (to preview the puzzle solution), triangle button (to start/restart the game), and equal sign button (to hear your score). There are also two game modes: Free Play Mode and Lightning Round Mode. Plus, the batteries actually came included - love that!

When I first played, I have to admit that I was a little confused and couldn't figure out the puzzle (even with playing on the easy mode, lol), but I quickly got the hang of it and it soon became addicting! Some the puzzles are pretty tricky and make you think, while others are really simple! I think the more I play it, the easier it becomes (maybe - just maybe - I'll be able to easily solve some of the puzzles from the medium mode soon)!

I think the Rubik’s Slide would make such a fun gift! This little gadget would be sure to entertain you and your family/friends for quite some time, especially since it has so many puzzles!

{A Christmas To Remember Gift Guide} Sorry! Spin Review

I've always enjoyed playing board games with family/friends, and I think they make fantastic gifts that the whole family can enjoy -- together!!! Recently, I was excited when I had the opportunity to check out Hasbro's Sorry! Spin, which is a fun update on the classic Sorry! (one of my favorites, btw).

About Sorry! Spin:

The twists and turns never end in this fun game! Just like in the classic SORRY game, your goal is to get your pawns back to their same-colored home. But watch out: in the SORRY SPIN game, if you draw a Spin Card, the playing board turns and you could end up getting closer to your goal -- or whizzing right past it! In a SORRY SPIN showdown, revenge is sweet...unless the board spins and the revenge is on you!

Includes 5 rotating game discs, 5 plastic cogs, 4 plastic arms, 4 rubber feet, 1 plastic base, 16 pawns (4 of each color), 42 cards and instructions.

Adult assembly required. For 2 to 4 players. Ages 6 and up.

Sorry! Spin is one of the games that we played at our Thanksgiving family gathering/dinner. When you play the game for the first time, there is a bit of a setup process where you have to put the board together, which will take a few minutes, and then you're all set to start playing (well, after you read the instructions, of course). The rules are easy to follow and are pretty similar to the original with only a slight difference due to the new spin feature.

This game seems to have a faster pace than the original, and what's cool (and different than the original) is that any number can get your pawn out of start, which makes for a faster startup to the game. At first, with each spin, it was a bit confusing for us (because since the board would move, we'd forget what color we were and we would try to move an opponent's pawn instead of our own since it would be closer, haha), but as you play it for a little bit, you get used to it. I think the new Spin feature, in addition to the classic Sorry! move, creates for a some unexpected results and makes the game even more exciting! With each spin, it would move my pawns, as well as my opponents, either closer or father away from home, and of course, there was always the possibility of being "sorry-ed" at any moment! It's loads of fun and is a great game for everyone to play!

Connect with Hasbro!
Buy It!
Sorry! Spin retails for $24.99 and can be purchased at Hasbro.com, as well as from most major retailers, such Target, Walmart, and K-Mart.

Disclosure: I was sent a Sorry! Spin for review purposes. No compensation was received. All opinions are my own.

{A Christmas To Remember Gift Guide} Telestrations Review

What exactly are those folks talking about in the video above? Well, it's all about a great game from USAopoly called Telestrations, which is a game that involves some drawing/sketching (don't worry, there's no real skill required), a bunch of fun, and a whole lot of laughter!

About Telestrations:
Telestrations, the "telephone game" sketched out! It's the laugh-out-loud sketch, pass & guess party game where up to 8 players draw what they see, then guess what they saw to reveal hilarious and unpredictable outcomes!
So, how exactly do you play the game? Check out the video below:

We had such a blast playing Telestrations! We played the game for the first time, not really knowing what to expect, with a group of four people from our Thanksgiving family gathering/dinner. The instructions for the game were pretty straightforward and easy to understand. As we first started out playing the game, there it was -- the first signs of laughter! There was a giggle here, a giggle there, as each of us realized what it was that we had to draw, and then it continued (usually followed by a "What?" or "Huh?") each time we passed the sketch books to the next person for them to guess/draw. When the results were revealed, every single one of us would burst out into laughter! The results of this game are soooo hilarious (as in laugh out loud funny and non-stop laughter to the point where you hurt from laughing so much)! I mean how is it exactly that a banana split becomes an alien abduction by the end of the game? Crazy, right?! Those are just the type of results that this game will bring. It still makes me laugh just thinking about it! I imagine the more people that play (up to 8 people), the more hilarious the game would become as the results would be even more off base.

In my opinion (and of those that I played the game with as well), Telestrations is a fantastic game! We wanted to play it over and over, and at the end of each game, we would declare one of the results as the funniest of the entire game, but they seemed to just get funnier as we went on. When the laughter trailed off, it seemed as though one of us would say, "Just one more game, one more game," and yet we would end up playing several more afterward. Laughter is addictive and so is this game! Its a TON of fun, would be perfect for family gatherings/parties, and is a game that everyone will love!

Check out just one of our funny results:
